    Vote now for the Allianz Athlete of the Month – November 2015

    The public has until 9 December to vote for their favourite from the six candidates.

    Recapping the month in para-sport: November 2015

    Six para-athletes have been shortlisted for the Allianz Athlete of the Month poll for November 2015, and the public are now invited to vote for their winner via the IPC's homepage.

    The nominations are:

    Inna Cherniak, Ukraine, judo

    Cherniak won gold in the women’s under 57kg event at the 2015 International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) European Judo Championships. She was also integral in helping Ukraine win the women’s open classification team event.

    Anna-Lena Forster, Germany, alpine skiing

    Forster won both slalom races at the IPC Alpine Skiing Europa Cup against Austrian world champion Claudia Loesch in Landgraaf, the Netherlands.

    Rhea Marquez and Jun Julius Obero, the Philippines, wheelchair dance sport

    The Filipino couple won World Championship gold in the freestyle class 2, upsetting the Russian duo of Galina Ryzhkova and Viacheslav Osipov.

    Tatyana McFadden, USA, athletics

    McFadden won the New York City Marathon, completing the quadruple (New York, Boston, Chicago, London) for the third consecutive year.

    Zahra Nemati, Iran, archery

    Nemati collected a quota space for her country for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games after winning the recurve women’s open competition at the Bangkok 2015 Asian Para Championships in Thailand. Additionally, she had qualified an Olympic spot for Iran at the able-bodied Asian Championships preceding the para-event.

    Mariana Shevchuk, Ukraine, powerlifting

    The 19-year-old left the 2015 European Open delighted with a new junior world record and four medals; she secured the junior Open and European gold, and senior European silver and Open bronze in the women’s up to 55kg.

    The public has until 12:00 (CET) on Wednesday (9 December) to vote for the athlete they want to be the Allianz Athlete of the Month for November 2015 via the IPC's homepage.

    The nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) and International Federations (IFs).

    The 2015 winners so far are:

    January – Andrew Soule, USA, Nordic skiing

    February – Chris Vos, the Netherlands, snowboard

    March – Maksym Nikolenko, Ukraine, table tennis

    April – Nigel Murray, Great Britain, boccia

    May – Martina Caironi, Italy, athletics

    June – Eduard Ramonov, Russia, football 7-a-side

    July – Siamand Rahman, Iran, powerlifting

    August – Trevor Hirschfield, Canada, wheelchair rugby

    September – Moran Samuel, Israel, rowing

    October – Beatrice Vio, Italy, wheelchair fencing
