The IPC to name Ones to Watch athletes for 2017 from Monday
06.01.2017Between 9-19 January around 230 athletes from all 22 Paralympic summer sports will be named Ones to Watch for 2017.
From Monday (9 January), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) will start naming the Ones to Watch athletes for 2017 for all 22 Paralympic summer sports.
Selected in partnership with relevant international federations, the Ones to Watch athletes are individuals who could made the headlines during the next Paralympic cycle ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Around 230 athletes from 22 sports will be named Ones to Watch for 2017 in an effort to make it easier for the public and media to understand which athletes to look out for.
Many will be young up and coming athletes who will develop between now and Tokyo 2020, whilst others will be made up of Paralympic and world medallists. All are set to be in action this year in either World or regional Championships.
Ones to Watch athletes will be revealed in two sports each day between 9-19 January, starting on Monday with wheelchair rugby and archery.
