Sport week: Judo venue at Rio 2016

The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games judo events will take place in the Carioca Arena 3, located in the Barra Olympic Park, the cluster with the largest concentration of venues.
The Carioca Arena 3 was unveiled on 6 March 2016 and has 10,000 seats, offering the highest standards of accessibility for athletes and spectators.
Once the Rio Games are over, it will become a sports-focused school with 24 classrooms, plus science and media labs, and space for 1,000 students.
Judo will be contested from 8-10 September, with seven men’s (-60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg and 100+kg) and six women’s (-48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg and 70+kg) medal events and 132 athletes going into battle.
The Carioca Arena 3 will host fencing and taekwondo during the Olympic Games.

The IPC’s Global ATR is Jet Set Sports, and Rio 2016 tickets and packages can be purchased on the CoSport website.
Residents of Brazil can buy 2016 Paralympics tickets directly from the Rio 2016 website.
