PyeongChang 2018 name Korean Air as Official Partner for Passenger Air Transportation Services

The PyeongChang Organising Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) has signed an official partnership agreement with Korean Air in a ceremony held at the Lakai Sandpine Resort in Gangneung.
POCOG President Cho Yang-ho said: “We are happy to have Korean Air as our partner, and I am confident that this sponsorship agreement will stimulate other Korean companies to join as sponsors for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.”
The signing ceremony was held right before the opening plenary of the 4th IOC Coordination Commission visit to South Korea. Attending the signing ceremony, Gunilla Lindberg, Chair of the IOC’s Coordination Commission for the PyeongChang 2018 Games commented: “Korean Air will be a key partner to the PyeongChang 2018 Organising Committee and provide strong support in Korea for the Games operations and air transportation needs. The agreement is another sign of the importance of the backing of the Korean business community for the success of the Games, and demonstrates the positive progress the PyeongChang 2018 team are making in this regard.”
As an official partner, Korean Air will provide optimum passenger air transportation services for Games-related personnel including Team Korea and POCOG workforce, and air freight services for Games operation.
Korean Air sponsors three sports teams: men’s volleyball, women’s table tennis and male speed skating. The airline also has been actively sponsoring international sports events such as ISU short track competitions, the Daegu World Championship in Athletics, the Incheon Asian Games and many others.
