Athletes from Japan, Germany, the USA, France and Ukraine stood out in the cross-country and biathlon races at the first World Cup event.
IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup, Kuhtai, Austria
Italy’s Giacomo Bertagnolli, Germany’s Anna Schaffelhuber and Austrian teammates Claudia Loesch and Roman Rabl showed strong form ahead of the 2017 World Para Alpine Skiing Championships in Tarvisio, Italy, from 22-31 January.
IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup, St. Moritz, Switzerland
Teenage skiers including the Netherlands’ Jeroen Kampschreur and Great Britain’s Millie Knight were the stars of this World Cup held in the Swiss city between 19-22 December.
Europa Cup, Pitzal, Austria
The rivalry between Germany’s Anna Schaffelhuber and Austria’s Claudia Loesch was the highlight of this Para alpine skiing event, which took place between 12-13 December.
2016 Para ice hockey World Championships B-Pool
The Czech Republic sealed gold, followed by Japan and Slovakia, with all three teams securing a place at the Qualification Tournament for PyeongChang 2018. Read the full review.

NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters
Belgium’s Joachim Gerard in the men’s singles, the Netherland’s Jiske Griffioen in the women’s singles, and the USA’s David Wagner in the quad’s singles, retained the title in London, Great Britain.

Chinese players shone by winning eight of the 22 events on home soil.
Tri-Nations Blind Football Tournament
At the sport’s first event to take place in India, from 1-4 December, Malaysia took gold following a victory over Laos in the final. The hosts ended third.
