The International Wheelchair Rugby Federation (IWRF) have announced a partnership with Hogan Lovells, a leading global law firm. Hogan Lovells – a provider of business-oriented legal advice and high-quality service to clients around the world – have well-established relationships with Paralympic sport. They are the official legal services provider for the British Paralympics Association and work with the Great Britain Boccia Team and International Boccia Federation.

IWRF are an Independent Sport Federation and are recognised as the global governing body responsible for wheelchair rugby. Having Hogan Lovells available to provide legal advice and services is expected to bring the IWRF closer to their vision of becoming a world leader in wheelchair sports. With time, the new partnership is expected to benefit IWRF members, as Hogan Lovells will gradually introduce their global network of offices to IWRF's National Member Organisations.

IWRF President, John Bishop stated: “We are elated to be partnering with Hogan Lovells, and look forward to working together. The wide array of professional legal services that they provide will be a tremendous asset to our sport and federation, and with time our member countries will benefit as well.”

Commenting on the new partnership, Ruth Grant, Chair of Hogan Lovells Diversity and Inclusion Committee, said: "At the core of Hogan Lovells' vision and values is a longstanding commitment to being a diverse and inclusive place to work. Beyond the workplace, the firm strongly believes that promoting diversity is simply the right thing to do."

Client relationship partner Richard Welfare added: "I am thrilled to be embarking upon this exciting partnership with IWRF, where there is so much potential to build on the great work we are already doing to promote disability sport, particularly in the run up to next year’s Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro."
