The Paralympic and world silver medallist will be hoping to climb to the top of the podium at Doha 2015 – so here are five facts about the American sprinter.

    1. Browne is petrified of heights and bugs – “like any bug, even butterflies!”

    2. The American is very superstitious – “If I run the best time of the season or a good race, I repeat the exact same ritual I did in the next race - even wearing the same tights and socks without washing them – nasty I know, but it works!”

    3. The 24-year-old plans to dye his hair pink in Doha. October is breast cancer awareness month and Browne’s grandmother died from the disease.

    4. His favourite event is the 200m and he always does a little dance before walking on to the track for good luck.

    5. If Browne wasn’t competing in track and field he would be a teacher.

The IPC Athletics World Championships will take place in Doha, Qatar, between 21-31 October, attracting 1,400 athletes from 100 countries.
