New judo world rankings published

IBSA Judo published its latest world rankings for the sport on 23 June following’s May IBSA World Games in Seoul, Korea.
The men’s classes are dominated by athletes from Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
Uzbekistani judoka Sherzod Namozov (-60kg), Nurbek Berdiyorov (-66kg) and Shukhrat Boboev (-90kg) currently top the rankings in their respective weight categories, as do Ukrainians Dmytro Solovey (-73kg), Olxandr Kosinov (-81kg).
The only non-Uzbekistani or Ukrainian athlete to top the world rankings is Russia’s Gaidar Gaidarov in the +100kg class, helped by the fact he won gold last month in Seoul.
In the women’s rankings, three gold medal winners from the World Games top their respective weight categories - Germany’s Carmen Brussig (-48kg), Ukraine’s Svitland Chepurina (-70kg) and Russia’s Irina Kayanova (+70kg).
The other two weight categories are led by Ukrainians Nataliya Nikolaychyk (-52kg) and Iryna Husieva (-63kg).
