Germany’s Martin Fleig is gearing up to compete in his home World Para Nordic Skiing Championships in just over one week’s time in Finsterau.

He is heading to the Bavarian Forest on the back of his first win in the biathlon World Cup for two years. He took the victory in the biathlon middle distance sitting at the Western Center in the Ukraine in the final race before the World Championships begin.

As Germany’s top male sit-skier he is desperate to do well there and is hoping to improve on his bronze medal in the middle distance from the 2015 World Championships in Cable, USA.

The 27-year-old is currently ranked third in the men’s biathlon sitting World Cup after two rounds.

Here he talks about why he loves skiing.
