It is Superhero Sunday, and with just over four weeks to go until the start of the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships, it is time to hear from Australia’s 100m T42 world champion, Scott Reardon.

Silver medallist at the Paralympic Games in 2012, Reardon topped the podium a year later at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France, where he won 100m T42 gold as well as silver over 200m.

The 25-year-old opened up 2015 in terrific form, clocking 12.24 in Canberra, Australia, in February – a time that still tops the global rankings for the 100m T42 seven months on.

Now, as the 2015 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, draw ever nearer, Reardon will be hoping to impress once again on the track.

Here he reveals the three heroes that have inspired him along the way.

    1. My brother, Phil

He was someone that I always looked up to. Everything I saw him do, he worked so hard to be the best he could possibly be. Seeing this growing up helped me shape the way I work towards a goal.

    2. My coach, Iryna Dvoskina

I don't think it's a secret, her ability to extract the best out of an athlete is amazing; there is no doubt I am the athlete I am because she is truly great at what she does: coach.

    3. Roger Federer (Swiss tennis player, multiple Grand Slam winner and Olympic medallist)

To be so good for so long is an outstanding accomplishment, his professionalism on and off the court is something to aspire to. He has a plan, executes it most of the time and when he is on court, he is magical to watch.

The 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships will take place between 21-31 October and feature more than 1,300 athletes from 100 countries. Tickets are on sale now.
