#SuperheroSunday: France’s Marie–Amelie Le Fur

French Paralympic 100m champion and world long jump silver medallist (T44) Marie-Amelie Le Fur reveals her three heroes for this week’s #Superhero Sunday.

The 26-year-old has maintained her place in the para-athletics limelight since 2006, when she won three silvers at the IPC Athletics World Championships on her international debut.

Since then Le Fur has secured a multitude of world, Paralympic and European medals. Her fine form looks to be continuing this year too; she sits second in the women’s T44 world rankings over 100m and 200m, and most impressively, tops the long jump T44 rankings after leaping a new world record 5.48m in France in June.

The question is – what medals can she add to her impressive collection at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships next month?

Here are Marie-Amelie Le Fur’s heroes:

1. Sebastien Barc (French Paralympic sprinter, won seven medals from two Paralympic Games - 2000 and 2004)

Marie-Amelie Le Fur will be one of 1,400 athletes from 100 countries who will compete at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar, between 22-31 October.
