One of the world’s best ever footballers Diego Maradona has sent a message of support to the Argentina football 5-a-side team ahead of their gold medal showdown with Brazil at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games.

World silver medallists Argentina will go head-to-head with Paralympic and world champions Brazil in Friday’s final in Toronto.

World Cup winner Diego Maradona sent his message of support to the Argentinian team via Facebook. "I want to congratulate "The Bats", the Argentina football team for the blind who are competing at the Parapan American Games in Toronto and to all the athletes at the Paralympics. They are a true example of coping and overcoming adversity,” he posted.

Both Argentina and Brazil are undefeated this week.

Argentina secured wins against Mexico, Uruguay and Chile and drew against Brazil and Colombia.

Brazil have scored 17 goals and conceded none after big wins against Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay and Chile.

Brazil met Argentina in last year’s IBSA Blind Football World Championships final match in Tokyo, Japan, and secured their fourth world title with a 1-0 victory.
