IPC opens media accreditation for PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has opened the media accreditation application process for non-rights holding broadcasters interested in attending the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.

Interested broadcast organisations, who have not acquired the broadcasting rights to the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympics, can apply via the IPC’s website at https://www.paralympic.org/pyeongchang-2018/media until 31 January 2017. After this deadline, the IPC will evaluate all applications before moving to the next step of the accreditation process.

As in previous Paralympic Games, written press and photographers will apply for media accreditation via their respective National Paralympic Committee (NPC). In order to ensure a successful and high-quality media coverage of the Paralympic Games, the NPCs are responsible for ensuring and confirming that the organisations and individuals being accredited are genuine recognised media professionals. The PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games will take place between 9-18 March 2018.

The Games will feature up to 670 athletes, a 24 per cent increase on the 539 athletes that competed at Sochi 2014. This number includes a 44 per cent increase in the number of female athletes set compete compared to Sochi.
