LISKI revels in chance to support Para snow sports

The equipment manufacturer has been a loyal partner to IPC Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon and IPC Alpine Skiing and Snowboard.

“LISKI has always been alongside organisations who want to bring skiing to everyone and everywhere.”

Equipment manufacturer LISKI entered its fourth year as a partner to IPC Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon and IPC Alpine Skiing and Snowboard in 2016, and is readying itself for a busy season in 2016-2017 which will include World Championships in all four sports.

Under the agreement with the sports, LISKI provides some free equipment and competitive prices to organisers of World and regional Cups and Championships as well as featuring Para athletes in their catalogues. They also help to promote the brands of each sport on their website.

Luca Ceresoli, Sales Manager for LISKI, said that the partnership with IPC Snow Sports is a natural fit for the Italian company: “LISKI has always been alongside organisations who want to bring skiing to everyone and everywhere. Initially we were attracted by the partnership because we saw the considerable potential to push winter sports for the disabled, also allowing them to express themselves at high levels.”

LISKI also feels strongly that it is important to help improve access for recreational skiers and snowboarders as well as provide the perfect conditions for high performance athletes.

“LISKI supports Para sport because we believe it is a right that everyone has the opportunities to play sports, both amateur and also at top level internationally,” Ceresoli said.

“We are proud to be featured on the website of the sports, because it means that we have the same ideals. When an organisation endeavors to improve the chances of all people, it is always gratifying to be part of it.”

The partnership between IPC Snow Sports and LISKI also benefits from the growth of Para sport in countries where skiing and snowboarding is less well-known. When organisers utilise the pricing on offer, everyone profits from having the correct equipment on the slopes and courses.

Dimitrije Lazarovski, Head of IPC Snow Sports, said: “LISKI have supported us with initiatives to continue to raise the standards of competitions, such as providing bibs for officials, and we are always discussing with them ways in which we can work together to continue to push forward.”

In 2017 all four sports will host their next World Championships. Tarvisio, Italy, has been confirmed as the destination for Para alpine skiing between 22-31 January, whilst Para biathlon, Para cross-country skiing and Para snowboard are all in the works.

The fruitful partnership between LISKI and IPC Snow Sports is sure to get better as time goes on.
