Representatives from 26 nations were in Bonn, Germany, between 1-2 May to discuss a number of subjects regarding the future of IPC Alpine Skiing and IPC Snowboard.

In addition to presentations from the organising committees of upcoming World Championships, attendees discussed the sport rules and regulations, competition calendar, development, and other relevant topics.

Ahead of the meeting participating nations were invited to submit recommendations for the sports. More than 30 were received and these were evaluated by the Sport Technical Committee (STC) for IPC Alpine Skiing and IPC Snowboard who met on Saturday (30 April).

Markus Walser, the Chairperson of the IPC Alpine Skiing and IPC Snowboard STC, said: “We have had three excellent and productive days in Bonn starting with Saturday’s STC meeting which was followed by the nations meeting.

“I would like to thank all those attended the meetings for their ideas, suggestions and open dialogue. This will help contribute to a bright future for both IPC Alpine Skiing and IPC Snowboard as we approach the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.”

Saturday’s Sport Technical Committee meeting included a review of the 2015-2016 season, along with addressing rule changes and plans required for the upcoming 2016-2017 season for both snowboard and alpine skiing.
