It’s time for our final #Superhero Sunday before the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships get underway in just three days’ time!

Rounding off the series is the USA’s Paralympic and world 100m T44 silver medallist Richard Browne, who will be hoping he can claim his first major championship individual gold in Doha, Qatar.

Who are Richard’s heroes that have inspired him on his quest for gold? Let’s find out.

    Marlon Shirley (former two-time Paralympic champion, men’s 100m T44 in 2000 and 2004)

He’s the first T44 to go sub 11. He really showed the way to do it in as far as not really caring that he was an amputee. He showed us the race just like anybody else showed us the race, and that’s a mentality that I carry as well. He was the first to have a different view of things – ‘I’m here, I’m here to compete, and I’m here to win.’

Deion Sanders (former American football and baseball player)

He’s another charismatic character who showed it was okay to be yourself as long as you came to work and worked hard. He started with Atlanta Falcons where I’m from.

Muhammad Ali (Former world heavyweight champion boxer and Olympic gold medallist 1960)

He’s just awesome – an ace of all time.

The 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar, between 21-31 October is set to attract 1,300 athletes from 100 countries.
