Canada’s four-time world champion Brent Lakatos gives an insight into his three heroes.

This week’s Superhero Sunday is brought to us by Canada’s four-time world champion Brent Lakatos, who joined the 2015 IPC Athletics ‘Ones to Watch’ list this year as the man to beat in the T53 wheelchair racing class.
Having won three silver medals at London 2012, Lakatos outclassed his rivals at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France, winning gold medals in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4x400m T53-54 relay and a silver in the 800m.
Last year Lakatos topped the global rankings in the 100m, 200m and 400m T53 after a series of superb performances at the IPC Athletics Grand Prix in Nottwil, Switzerland, where he lowered his own 100m world record by 0.17 seconds.

Andre Viger – (Pioneering Canadian wheelchair racer, took part in five consecutive summer Paralympic Games and won three Boston marathons)
He was a beast.
Chantal Petitclerc – (Canadian wheelchair racer, winner of 21 Paralympic medals including 14 gold across five Games)
Amazing competitor and person.
Captain Picard – (Star Trek’s Commanding Officer on board the Enterprise)
Saved us from the Borg.
Lakatos is set to be one of 1,300 athletes from 90 countries who compete at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships which take place in Doha, Qatar, between 22-31 October.
