09.04.2015Sochi 2014 gold medallist Adam Page helped to spread the word about the up-coming IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships A-Pool in Buffalo, New York, USA.
Adam Page of the US National Sled Hockey Team took part in a variety of activities at Monday's (6 April) Buffalo Sabres game to help promote the upcoming 2015 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships, which will take place from 26 April-3 May at the HARBORCENTER in Buffalo, New York, USA.
Page, who will be competing in his fifth IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships, took part in a pre-game interview on MSG Network, did an intermission interview at First Niagara Centre that ran on the video board, and interacted with fans in the arena at the USA Hockey demo booth brought to you by Labatt Blue, where he taught people the inner workings of the sport on roller sledges.
Speaking about Buffalo 2015 and competing on home ice, Page said: “I can’t wait. It’s kind of something you dream of, playing in your home town.”
Of the developing rivalry with Sochi 2014 silver medallists Russia, he continued: “It’s the same thing with Canada and now Russia. It’s exciting to play against them, they play the North American style which is hard-hitting and fast-paced.”
Buffalo 2015 will feature eight of the world's best ice sledge hockey teams. Group A will consist of the defending champions Canada, Czech Republic, Norway and Japan. The US will face Italy, Germany and Russia in Group B.
All eight teams begin play on Sunday, 26 April, highlighted by a rematch between the US and Russia, who have met in the Championships game in the last two major international tournaments.
