#SuperheroSunday: Walid Ktila

It is time for this week’s #SuperheroSunday, and with the IPC Athletics Grand Prix in Tunis, Tunisia, set to take place in less than 10 days’ time, who better to hear from than Tunisia’s own multiple world and Paralympic champion, Walid Ktila.

The 29-year-old dominated the T34 class out on the track at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France, claiming four titles from 100m up to 800m to add to the two sprint golds he won at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Next week Ktila lines up in the 100m, 200m, 400, and 800m in front of his home crowd in Tunis, having already enjoyed a winning start to 2015 with a clean sweep of victories in Dubai, UAE, last month.

With four world records also to his name, Ktila will be tough competition for his rivals both in Tunisia, and at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar later this year.

Heinz Frei (Swiss T53 wheelchair racer; Paralympic champion in athletics, handcycling + sit-skiing)

He has a good moral character. He is modest, professional and has enjoyed an excellent sports career.

Kurt Fearnley (Australian T54 wheelchair racer; two-time world + Paralympic marathon champion)

He is such a strong athlete despite his profound disability - he is a true marathon professional.

David Weir (British T54 wheelchair racer; won four golds at London 2012 Paralympics)

David has a good moral character, he is also very strong.

Ktila will be one of 1,300 athletes from 90 countries set to compete at the IPC Athletics World Championship in Doha, Qatar, between 22-31 October.
