Strathmore water has been announced as the national supplier of bottled water for both the IAAF World Championships London 2017 and the World Para Athletics Championships.

Athletes, officials and volunteers at both events next summer will be hydrated by more than one million bottles of water being supplied by the water brand.

This year will bring together more than 3,000 world-class athletes from more than 200 countries, who will compete in 30 sessions across 20 jam-packed and action-fueled days as both the World Para Athletics Championships (14-23 July) and IAAF World Championships London 2017 (4-13 August) are hosted in London this summer.

“It is vital for top class athletes to have easy access to water during training and competition to stay hydrated.”

Strathmore water will be available at the London Stadium for athletes, officials, volunteers as well as all those attending the events. All the water bottles are recyclable and recycling facilities will be provided across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Niels de Vos, Championship Director of London 2017 Ltd said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Strathmore as the supplier of bottled water for next summer. It is vital for top class athletes to have easy access to water during training and competition to stay hydrated. Similarly, we want to ensure all those working hard to put on the Championships, whether paid or voluntary, remain healthy and hydrated, especially with many based outside in potentially warm temperatures.”

Adrian Troy, Marketing Director for AG Barr, said: “Strathmore already has a proud history of supporting sport nationally and internationally, and it’s incredibly exciting to be able to strengthen our association with sport by supporting the World Para Athletics Championships and the IAAF World Championships London 2017.

“Hot off an incredible year for Team GB at the Rio Olympics, 2017 is set to be another scorcher for British sport and we can’t wait to play such an active role in it.”

Strathmore water is bottled at source in the Vale of Strathmore, near Glamis Castle in Scotland and has a long-standing reputation for supplying water to major mass participation events including the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
