The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will receive a celebration song. Released by Som Livre in partnership with Rio 2016 Organising Committee, “Transformar” is a tribute to the event’s success and inspiring environment. The song brings the voices of Ivete Sangalo and the British perfoemer Calum Scott – artists kindly provided by Universal Music. It will be presented on an unprecedented show at Sunday’s (18 September) Paralympic Games’ Closing Ceremony at Maracanã stadium.

The song lyrics, composed by Cesar Lemos and Nelson Motta, talk about courage and bring a message of inspiration. Part of the money earned by the song will be donated for the Agitos Foundation, which is the development arm of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Established four years ago, the Agitos Foundation aims to strengthen Para sport worldwide and is the only global charity focused on the development of Para sport.

"To be asked to sing the Paralympic theme song alongside Ivete Sangalo in her home nation is an absolute honour! I'm incredibly proud to be given the opportunity to stand in that stadium and close such a huge inspirational event!

I can't wait to represent Great Britain on such a special occasion and to be surrounded by so many incredible athletes, including those from my own country!

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of history! It's a dream come true,” said Calum Scott.

Ivete also celebrates the opportunity. “To sing at the Paralympic Games closing ceremony is one of the greatest joys of my life. For the importance of the sport and to be next to athletes so full of bravery that are an inspiration for us all,” said the singer.

    Vamos lá

    Chegou a hora

    Nossa história é

    Aqui e agora

    Vamos transformar

    Cada segundo

    No melhor de nós

    Pra todo mundo.

    Vamos lá

    Nossa mensagem

    Soltar nossa voz

    Força e coragem

    Vamos transformar

    Cada segundo

    No melhor de nós

    Pra todo mundo.

    Cada sonho é uma esperança

    Entre a dor e a alegria

    Sempre nova a cada dia

    Cada sonho tem seu preço

    Cada fim tem recomeço

    Cada um tem seu valor

Vai na boa, vai que dá

Vai na boa, vai que dá

Vai com força e com vontade

    Inspirando emoções

Vai na boa, vai que dá

Vai na boa, vai que dá

    Pelo sonho da igualdade

    Em todos os corações

    Ready, let's go

    Right now, right here

    Our Body and soul

    Making history

    Transforming hearts

    In every journey

    Forever starts

    This very moment

    Sing out loud

    Don’t be afraid to try

    Stand tall and proud

    You were born to fly

    Transforming hearts

    In every journey

    Forever starts

    This very moment

Cause our hope will keep us dreaming

    Every dream, a new beginning

    Another lesson love is teaching

There’s a price for our decisions

    There’s no difference, no division

    Just believe it

    Yes, you can!

We can do it, here we go

We can do it, here we go

    We’re each other’s inspiration

    Together rising above

We can do it, here we go

We can do it, here we go

    We're the real transformation

We've got the power of love

    Oh oh
