Argentina avoided an upset at the Seoul 2015 International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games on 16 May, scoring two goals in the last minute of the football-5-a-side final for a 2-1 win over Great Britain in South Korea.

Great Britain turned out to be the surprise team in the tournament, entering as No. 11 in the world rankings. But despite an early 1-0 lead, the British could not hold on late in the finals against Argentina, who boasted the No. 3 world ranking.

The Spanish football team (B1) earned the bronze, defeating China 1-0, thanks to Adolfo Acosta’s goal. Spain, the London 2012 Paralympic bronze medallists, made their way to the podium after coming second in group two with four points. China had secured second spot in group one on seven points.

Argentina dominated throughout the seven-day event, claiming the maximum nine points with victories over Spain, Russia and Turkey in group two, en route to the gold-medal game. Great Britain had shown to be a much-improved team from recent outings, topping group one at the end of the round-robin stage with 10 points.
