IPC Alpine Skiing update on competition calendar
07.01.2016Due to poor snow conditions further changes have been made to the 2016 IPC Alpine Skiing competition calendar.
The IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup scheduled for 15-16 January in Abtenau, Austria, has been moved to Kranjska Gora, Slovenia due to a lack of snow.
The new World Cup in Slovenia on the same dates will feature giant slalom competition on Friday 15 January, followed by slalom on Saturday 16 January. All bookings made by team for Abtenau will be transferred to Kranjska Gora.
There are currently no planned changes to the two other World Cup meetings scheduled for January. The World Cups in Tarvisio, Italy, (18-19 January) and St Moritz, Switzerland, (21-23 January) will at present go ahead without any changes to the competition programme.
Also going ahead without any changes is the IPCAS race scheduled for 28-31 January in Veysonnaz, Switzerland.
Due to a lack of snow, the IPCAS race set for Rokytnice nad Jizerou, Czech Republic, between 16-18 January had been rescheduled for 27-29 February. The competition programme remains unchanged.
IPC Alpine Skiing is continuing to carefully monitor the snow situation and conditions at all venues and will communicate any venue or competition changes when they happen.
