Daviet: My best moments
31.10.2016The French Nordic skier has made consistent improvements and reflects on his favourite achievements so far.

Benjamin Daviet is a rising star of the French Para Nordic team. He made his debut in 2011 and has already won six major Championship medals in the men’s standing.
In Cable, USA, at the World Championships in 2015 he won three silver medals in the cross-country 1km sprint, cross-country 20km individual and the biathlon 7.5km individual as well as a bronze in the biathlon 15km individual. Alongside teammates Thomas Clarion and Anthony Chalencon he won gold in the open relay.
He has a bronze medal from the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games also from the open relay.
Add to that his second place in the biathlon and third place in the cross-country overall World Cups in season 2015-16 and you can see why is such a promising talent in both sports. He is now preparing for the start of the season which will feature the 2017 World Para Nordic Championships in Finsterau, Germany, from 11-19 February.
Here Daviet talks about the top three moments of his career so far.
My first Paralympic medal
“The bronze medal in the relay at the Paralympic Games in Sochi was a great moment. My first Paralympic medal at my first ever Games and it was my teammate Thomas Clarion’s birthday. It was a dream come true. All top athletes dream about winning medals.”
My first World Championship medals
“The World Championships in 2015 in Cable, USA were amazing with our victory in the relay, my three silver medals and a bronze medal. They were feelings of happiness and joy for me but also in the eyes of our loved ones, our coaches, technicians, physiotherapists and families.”
My first podiums in the overall World Cups
“In season 2015-16 on the World Cup I finished in second place overall on the World Cup in biathlon and in third place in cross-country. It was a result of our work throughout the whole year and the sacrifices we made to get there.”
The 2017 Worlds will feature 135 athletes from 25 countries, all hoping to secure silverware at the last major competition ahead of the PyeoncgChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.
