The Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee on Thursday 10 March welcomed Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) as a Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Gold Partner in the category “Tyres, Seismic isolation bearings & Non-motorised bicycles.” Its addition brings the total number of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Partners to 31*.

Bridgestone has been a supporter of the Olympic Movement since 2014 as one of the Worldwide Olympic Partners. By becoming a Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Gold Partner, the highest domestic tier of the sponsorship programme, Bridgestone will provide valuable support to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori welcomed the new appointment: “Bridgestone is already an active supporter of the Olympic Games in its capacity as a Worldwide Olympic Partner, and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee is delighted that Bridgestone will also provide support to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games as a Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Gold Partner. This new addition will constitute a major boost to our efforts to promote the Paralympic Movement.”

Masaaki Tsuya, Bridgestone CEO and Representative Board Member, Concurrently Chairman of the Board, added: “We are very proud to be able to contribute to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and Japan's national Paralympic team until 2020 as a Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Gold Partner. Bridgestone emphasizes a respect for diversity to achieve its commitment of becoming a truly global company. It is clear that Bridgestone and the Paralympic Movement share a common set of values, as the Paralympic Movement's ultimate aspiration is "To make for a more inclusive society for people with an impairment through para-sport."

“Bridgestone will support the journey of all individuals facing adversity who constantly strive to achieve their dreams by realizing our goals of providing “service to community,” “social responsibility” and “respect for diversity.”

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will take place between 25 August and 6 September 2020.
