"It is very exciting to see that a company of BP's stature and dedication to Turkey stands by our athletes, who work hard to represent our country in the best manner possible. ”

BP, which will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its activities in Turkey in 2012, has become the sponsor for the Turkish National Paralympic Team until the end of 2016.

The sponsorship agreement, which was signed with the Turkish National Paralympic Committee, aims to contribute to the success of the team. BP’s support for the Turkish National Paralympic Committee includes main sponsorship of the team, support for selected individual athletes and providing fuels for the NPC’s vehicles.

A press conference was organized at the Ç?ra?an Palace Hotel on 17 November with the participation of Yavuz Kocaömer, the President of the Turkish National Paralympic Committee; Djan Suphi, the Country President of BP Turkey; and Richard Harding, the Fuels Country Manager of BP Turkey.

Yavuz Kocaomer, president of the NPC, said: “The 2012 Paralympic Games will be held in London next year between August 29th and September 9th. We will have the chance to participate with 40 athletes in the Paralympic Games, in which we participated with 1 athlete in 2000, 8 athletes in 2004, and 16 athletes in 2008. It is very exciting to see that a company of BP's stature and dedication to Turkey stands by our athletes, who work hard to represent our country in the best manner possible. ”

BP Turkey provides services to its customers via approximately 600 fuel oil and 130 BP auto gas stations as well as 70 stations under the trademarks of Petgaz and Ocakgaz.

BP continues its investments with the aim of increasing the quality of the products and services it offers to consumers, within strict HSE (Health-Safety-Environment) principles. Among the many priorities of BP Turkey are improving the infrastructure conditions at fuel stations, and creating safe and secure environments for its employees, dealers, and customers.
