Algeria aim to organise biggest ever IBSA Goalball African Championships

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Algeria has released an official invitation for teams to join the 2015 IBSA Goalball African Championships which will take place in Algiers later this year.
Scheduled for 20-30 November, the event is an opportunity for the top performing men’s and women’s side to qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
In an effort to attract more women’s teams to the Championships, free accommodation and public transport has been offered to those taking part.
For the event to an eligible Paralympic qualifying event, at least four teams are needed to participate in both the men’s and women’s competitions.
So far Central African Republic, Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda and Algeria have shown an interest in competing on the men’s side. On the women’s side, it is hoped hosts Algeria will be joined by Central African Republic, Congo, Egypt, Ghana and Rwanda.
IBSA Goalball’s aim is to have the highest number of participants ever for an IBSA Goalball African Championships.
