The team are in Buffalo looking to retain that place at the very start of the cycle for the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.
After missing out on the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, several key players retired but there is promise from the new generation with the likes of 18-year-old forward Felix Schrader.
Experienced team members such as Frank Rennhack will be alongside Schrader on the front-line, and have already joined forces in 2014-15 to beat B-Pool team Sweden. Klaus Brzoska of Weser Stars Bremen, a new addition for 2014-15, also replaces former back-up goaltender Lars Uhlemann.
Gathering together players from across Germany including Wiehl, Langenhagen and Dresden the band of 14 men will face Italy, Paralympic champions the USA and Sochi 2014 silver medallists Russia in Group B.
