NPC Afghanistan President Seriously Injured in Attack

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has sent its prayers and wishes to the President of the Afghanistan National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Khademuddin Allahya who was attacked by armed Taliban last week in his home country leaving him with serious injuries.

Allahya was badly hurt after suffering 11 gunshot wounds to his upper-body, including some to his neck and face. He is currently in an intensive care unit with various injuries, however it is hoped he will be moved out shortly. He is doing well on his road to recovery, said Michael Sirota, Director of International Relations at Afghanistan’s NPC.

The IPC, its Governing Board and the whole Paralympic Movement unite in wishing Allahya a quick and safe recovery.
