Day Seven Review of 2010 Asian Para Games

The final day of competition at the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games saw the Men’s marathon T54 and the conclusion of the Table Tennis competition. Here’s a review who won what:

Athletics

Kota Hokinoue of Japan won the gold medal with a result of 1:27:42. Masayuki Higuchi of Japan and Prawat Wahoram of Thailand took the silver and bronze respectively.

Table Tennis

Of the four gold medals available on the final day of Table Tennis, Korea ensured it was not a complete clean sweep by China by winning the Men’s Team TT4-5. China claimed silver and Chinese Taipei the bronze.

China did claim gold though in the Women’s Team TT1-3 and TT4-5. Korea claimed silver in both as well, with Iran the bronze in the TT1-3 class and Chinese Taipei third in the TT4-5.

In the Men’s Team TT1-3 China claimed gold, Korea the silver and Thailand the bronze.

During the course of the Games a total of 1,020 medals were awarded and 32 countries managed to get onto the podium at some point.

China topped the medal table with 391 medals, 185 of which were gold.

In total 18 World records were broken during the course of the Games which will come to a close on Sunday (19 December) evening at the Aoti Main Stadium.
