GOLD WEIR David GBR Great BritainSILVER WAHORAM Prawat THA ThailandBRONZE 2482 KIM Gyu Dae KOR Republic of KoreaLONDON, September 4Wheelchair racer David WEIR (GBR) confirmed his position as one of the personalities of London 2012 as he defended his 1500m crown by copying the tactics that took him to victory in the T54 men's 5000m.WEIR, 32, came home in 3:12.09 after covering the last lap in 44.84 secs. Prawat WAHORAM (THA) took the silver medal in 3:12.32, finishing almost exactly a wheelchair length behind WEIR, while KIM Gyu Dae (KOR) was third in 3:12.57. The 1500m and 5000m world record holder Marcel HUG (SUI) finished out of the medals and came home fourth."I'm shocked really because the field in the 1500m this year has been so strong and I've only won a couple of races, so coming into this race I was probably the fourth fastest on paper." - David WeirFor further information, please visit http://www.paralympic.org.
