Spain to host wheelchair basketball Euros

The 2017 European Championships-A will be held between 19 June–1 July in Tenerife.

The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Europe has announced that Tenerife, Spain, will host the European Championships for Men and Women Division A 2017. The Federación Española de Deportes de Personas con Discapacidad Física (FEDDF) – Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Impairment - will organise the event.

The Championship will take place from 19 June - 1 July 2017.

Worcester, Great Britain, hosted the last European Championships last year.

The British men defeated Turkey to claim the title for the third consecutive time and went on to take bronze at Rio 2016. Germany captured the European bronze medal.

On the women’s side, Germany defeated the Netherlands for the gold medal, and took the silver at the Paralympic Games in September; Great Britain claimed the regional bronze medal.
