IBSA Football 5-a-Side Development Seminars

From 15 to 18 November, Norway will host an ‘International Futsal Development Seminar’ for blind and partially sighted athletes, organized by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) in partnership with the Norwegian Football Association.

A total of 40 coaches and referees from Norway, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands will gather in Oslo, Norway, for several theoretical and practical sessions. Experts from all over the world will be onsite to introduce the Paralympic Sport of Football 5-a-side.

The seminar is part of IBSA’s ‘Futsal Development Project Europe’, made possible thanks to financial support from the European Football Association (UEFA) and aimed at further developing and spreading the game in Europe.

Blind sports organizations, National Paralympic Committees and UEFA member associations from every European country will be given the opportunity to attend one of the seminars to be held in a variety of countries.

“These seminars are very important for the future of the sport in Europe as we are taking the game to Scandinavia for the first time. This is a new part of the continent for us, and we hope blind and partially sighted players in the Nordic countries will soon enjoy more opportunities to play”, said Mr. Carlos Campos, Chaiperson of the IBSA Futsal Subcommittee.
