    IPC Anti-Doping Code 2018

In compliance with the IPC Anti-Doping Code and World Anti-Doping Code, the IPC has a Registered Testing Pool (RTP), a group of top-level athletes in specific Paralympic sports who take part in an efficient out-of-competition testing programme.

Athletes included in the registered testing pool are required to provide the IPC with a complete and accurate whereabouts filing including a 60 minute time slot, training times, competitions and any other regular activates that they may have. This can be done through the Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) system. This must be submitted by the quarter deadline and must be updated regularly.

RTP Athletes must avoid committing a Whereabouts Failure

A Whereabouts Failure is either a Filing Failure or a Missed Test:

    • Filing Failure – If an athlete fails to return his/her quarterly Whereabouts Filing by the stated deadlines, fully and accurately completed, this may result in a Filing Failure.

    • Missed Test – If an athlete fails to be available for Testing at the location and time specified in the 60-minute time slot identified in his or her Whereabouts Filing for the day in question it may result in a Missed Test.

Any combination of three missed tests and/or filing failures, within a twelve-month period by an athlete in a Registered Testing Pool can lead to a ban in your sport.

The deadlines for submissions for each quarter are:

    1st Quarter (January – March) 31 December

    2nd Quarter (April - June) 31 March

    3rd Quarter (July – September) 30 June

    4th Quarter (October – December): 30 September

Based on current IPC resources and the ranking of the athletes, the IPC has established its registered testing pool. The athletes included in the current Registered testing pool can be found below

Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS)

The Anti-Doping Administration & Management System (ADAMS) is a web-based database management system that simplifies the daily activities of all stakeholders and athletes involved in the anti-doping system.

It was developed to co-ordinate anti-doping activates worldwide. ADAMS is used in every aspect of anti-doping:

    - For athletes providing whereabouts information

    - For the management of Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE’s)

    - For information on Anti-doping Rule Violations (ADRV’s)

    - For anti-doping organisations to set up tests

    - For laboratories to report results

    - For anti-doping organisations to report the results

It is available in seven languages English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Russian, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, Korean and Arabic.

For more information on ADAMS please visit the WADA website.
