    Italy has claimed 61 medals at the Paralympic Winter Games: Gold 12 - Silver 20 - Bronze 29.

    The Nagano 1998 Paralympic Winter Games were Italy's most successful Winter Games to date, winning three gold medals, four silver medals and three bronze medals.

    The NPC made its debut at the Geilo 1980 Paralympic Winter Games.

    Italy hosted the Paralympic Winter Games in 2006 when the event was held in Turin.

    The NPC has been most successful in alpine skiing, claiming eight gold, 16 silver and 20 bronze medals.

    Alpine skier Bruno Oberhammer is Italy's most successful athlete at the Paralympic Winter Games: G3-S5-B4.

    No Italian athlete finished higher than sixth at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

    Silvia Parente and Francesca Porcellato are the two women to have won gold medals for Italy. Parente won the women's giant slalom visually impaired in alpine skiing in 2006, and Porcellato won gold in the women's 1km sprint sitting in cross-country in 2010.
