Technical Officials
Technical officials play an essential role in the delivery of para powerlifting competitions and the overall development of the sport. They are the experts in the Technical Rules and Regulations, and ensure their correct application. Technical officials act in several different roles to run the technical operations of a competition and adjudicate each athlete's lift.

Becoming a Technical Official
Becoming a technical official is an important roleand has many benefits, including:
-Satisfaction and enjoyment of being involved in the sport
-Opportunity to be appointed for national and international competitions
-Chance to be provided flights, accommodations, meals, transportation and support, depending on the competition level
-Opportunity to develop friendships with people from different countries and backgrounds
-Chance to be provided uniform and competition gifts, depending on the competition level
The requirements to become a technical official are simple; candidates must:
-Be at least 18 years of age
-Have at least a secondary/high school level of education and/or have a competative powerlifting background or understanding and experience of WPPO competitions
-For those interested in the international passway, have a basic level of the English language
To participate in a course, complete and submit the document "Expression of Interest to Participate in WPPO Education Programms".
Hosting a Technical Official Course
The Technical Official Courses provide candidates the knowledge, understanding and compentency to successfully and consistently adjudicate official para powerlifting competitions under the Technical Rules and Regulations. The course is a series of practical and theoretical sessions, concluding with a theoretical examination. Upon completion of the examination, successful candidates will be officially on the Technical Official Pathway and licensed until the end of the current Paralympic cycle.
