Vote for June’s Allianz Athlete of the Month

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has revealed the shortlist for June’s Allianz Athlete of the Month, and the public can now vote for the winner on www.paralympic.org.
The nominations are:
NUR SYAHIDAH ALIM, SGP, ARCHERY
Became Singapore’s first world champion archer after winning the compound women’s open in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
JOHANNES FLOORS, GER, ATHLETICS
Smashed two world records at the Bayer Invitational Meeting in Leverkusen, Germany: the 100m T62 in 10.66 and the 200m in 21.22.
RAIMUNDO MENDES, BRA, BLIND FOOTBALL
Won player of the tournament and was top scorer at the Blind Football American Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as part of the winning team.
ANTONI PONCE, ESP, SWIMMING
Crowned champion of the men’s individual World Para Swimming World Series for the first time. He dethroned Brazil’s most decorated Paralympian Daniel Dias who had won the two first editions.
MOHAMED SAMEH EID SALEH, EGY, TABLE TENNIS
Won his eighth straight African Championship, earning his direct qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
The public has until 12:00 (CEST) on Friday (12 July) to vote for the athlete they want to be the Allianz Athlete of the Month for June 2019 via the International Paralympic Committee homepage.
The nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) and International Federations (IFs).
The 2019 winners are:
January – Jeroen Kampschreur, NED, alpine skiing
February – Yujie Li, CHN, taekwondo
March – Lisa Bunschoten, NED, snowboarding
April – Michael Roeger, AUS, athletics
May – Koji Sugeno, JPN, wheelchair tennis
