From 8-14 September it will host the world’s strongest Paralympians for powerlifting competition across 20 medal events.
Riocentro is a bigger zone consisting of six pavilions, three of which are being used for Rio 2016.
Normally an exhibition and trade show space, it is adjacent to the Barra Olympic Park and International Broadcast Centre.
It is a short journey from the fully accessible Riocentro BRT station. It is also near to the Centro Olimpico station.
During the Para powerlifting competitions the venue will arranged in an amphitheatre style setting, placing the lifting platform at centre stage and giving spectators a fantastic view of the action.
Sessions begin at either 10:00, 13:00 or 16:00 every day and each will feature medal events.
Riocentro – Pavillion 2 will open 1.5 hours before the start of each session. Entry during competition is allowed, but you may have to wait for a break before you can get in.
