Cross-country skiing will be one of six sports to be contested at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, with a total of 114 medals up for grabs. Sprint, middle and long distances races across all men’s and women’s categories will take place, as well as open and mixed relays.

The sport first appeared at the Winter Paralympic Games in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, in 1976, and has been part of the programme ever since.

Austria’s Carina Edlinger, USA’s Oksana Masters and Ukraine’s Oleksandra Kononova, Ihor Reptyukh and Maksym Yarovyi are some of the ones to watch Para athletes for the sport.

One of the most highly anticipated head to heads is that of Reptyukh and France’s Benjamin Daviet in the men’s standing.

It will also be interesting to see if Sweden’s 2017-18 World Cup champion Zebastian Modin can win his first Paralympic title in the men’s vision impaired, and if Worlds silver medallist Eui Hyun Sin can land a gold medal for the host country in the men’s sitting. Cross-country skiing competitions are open to athletes with a physical impairment and blindness/vision impairment.

The venue for cross-country at PyeongChang 2018 will be the Alpensia Biathlon Centre, located in the PyeongChang Mountain Cluster.

Every competition as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies can be watched live right here on the International Paralympic Committee’s website. Highlights of each day’s action will also be made available.

More information on cross-country can be found on the official PyeongChang 2018 website.
