    PyeongChang 2018: Day 2 as it happens

    Alpine skiing - super-G

    Slovakia's Henrieta Farkasova, guided by Natalia Subrtova, secured her second gold in as many days and seventh Paralympic title overall, with success in the women's vision impaired. Great Britain secured silver and bronze through Millie Knight (guide Brett Wild) and Menna Fitzpatrick (guide Jennifer Kehoe) respectively.

    France's Marie Bochet claimed her sixth career Paralympic title, and second at PyeongChang 2018, in the women's standing, edging out Germany's Andrea Rothfuss into silver for a second successive day. Canada's Alana Ramsay took bronze.

    It is now seven Paralympic gold medals in a row for Anna Schaffelhuber after the German took the women's sitting title. Her great rival, Austria's world champion Claudia Loesch, took silver in this event for the second successive Games. The bronze medallists was Japan's Momoka Muraoka.

    The men's vision impaired saw Slovakians win gold and bronze in a race that saw the podium finishers seperated by just 0.55 seconds. After winning downhill silver on Saturday, Jakub Krako (guide Branislav Brozman) took the win while his teammate Miroslav Haraus (guide Maros Hudik) also made the podium. Italy's Giacomo Bertagnolli (guide Fabrizio Casal) impressed, adding silver to the bronze he won on Saturday.

    There was a repeat of Saturday's podium in the men's standing. Switzerland's Theo Gmur won his second gold, while France's Arthur Bauchet and Austria's Markus Salcher took silver and bronze.

    In the men's sitting Super-G Canada's Kurt Oatway denied USA's Andrew Kurka his second gold in PyeongChang. After finishing eighth on day one, Oatway came back to win his first ever Paralympic medal. Kurka took the silver and France's Frederic Francois.

    Cross-country skiing

    Ukraine's Maksym Yarovyi won gold in the men's sitting 15km race by a margin of more than 40 seconds. The USA's Daniel Cnossen added to the biathlon gold he won yesterday with silver, while hosts South Korea won their first medal of the Games courtesy of Eui Hyun Sin.

    Two US athletes again made the podium in the women's sitting 12.5km. Kendall Gretsch took her second gold in as many days and Oksana Masters won bronze, narrowly edging out Neutral Paralympic Athlete Marta Zainullina. Splitting the two Americans was veteran German Andrea Eskau.

    Para ice hockey

    South Korea made it two wins in two after a thrilling match against Czech Republic that ended 3-2 in overtime. National hero Seung Hwang Jung scored twice including the sudden death goal.

    Defending champions USA began the campaign in PyeongChang with a 10-0 victory over Japan, while Canada beat Italy by the same scoreline in the final match of the day.

    Wheelchair curling

    Germany opened day two with its second win in the tournament (6-4 over USA). In the other morning match Switzerland beat Great Britain 7-4.

    In the afternoon session, NPA recorded its first win, beating Finland 12-5, China claimed a 10-1 victory over Norway, Canada beat Sweden 8-4 and South Korea beat Slovakia 7-5.

    In the final session Great Britain bounced back from their earlier defeat to record 9-2 win over a Finland. China ended Germany's unbeaten run (7-3), the USA comprehensively beat Sweden 10-2 and Switzerland were narrow winners over Slovakia.
