Korea holds ice sledge hockey Games Officials Seminar
21.09.2012As the host of the 2013 World Championships and the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, Korea offered Games Officials a seminar to help further develop ice sledge hockey.
Korea is providing further training to international officials in ice sledge hockey in the lead-up to the 2013 World Championships and 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.

Course participants took part in classroom sessions where they watched national games and also were part of on-ice sessions with the course leaders.
Ten participants took part in Korea’s 2012 Games Officials Seminar from 14-16 September at the Gwang-woon University Ice Rink in Seoul, Korea to further develop ice sledge hockey officiating.
The course was led by Scott MacDonald, the head of technical control and officiating for the IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Sport Technical Committee, as well as international referee Paul Boese.
With Korea hosting the 2013 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey A Pool World Championships next April and the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, the aim was to enhance the skill set of games officials in the country to help better and further develop the sport.
Course participants took part in classroom sessions where they watched national games and also were part of on-ice sessions with the course leaders.
With Korea’s silver medal at the last A Pool World Championships in Hamar, Norway in April, the country has devoted more resources to ice sledge hockey in the build-up to both the 2013 World Championships and 2018 Games.
