The Paralympic Games are an elite sport event for athletes with a disability. Is your organization ready to help them achieve these great athletic achievements? Do you see life through the eyes of persons with a disability?

Come to Vancouver to open your mind to a new perspective so that we can build a future where every body is equal regardless of their physical ability.

Throughout the impressive infrastructure development across Vancouver to host the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, significant planning and consultation has been undertaken to create some of the world's most accessible public facilities.

The IPC Academy is delivering the Accessibility Summit to allow delegates to discuss and learn from the accomplishment of one of the world's greatest celebration for the athletic achievements of Paralympic athletes and the global community of persons with a disability. This Summit incorporates thought provoking key note speakers from industry leaders, panel sessions and site visits, giving a detailed insight into the complex task of developing facilities for the delivery of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. Key themes include:

Theme 1: Accessibility Infrastructure Design & Construction

Theme 2: Legacy for Mobility & Accessibility

    Theme 3: Athlete Empowerment

The Summit is not only ideal for organizations looking to create models of best practice for persons with a disability but essential for anybody wanting to be involved with the future of major sporting events and their associated infrastructure.

Delegates are provided with an invaluable networking opportunity and an exciting hospitality package at one of the world's greatest sporting events. You will experience the Paralympic "Spirit in Motion". The Summit allows delegates to network with the Paralympic family, learn from the past complications to generate new ideas for the future and discuss how accessibility can continue to be planned for future major events and in everyday life.
