Proud Paralympian, the International Paralympic Committee’s global athlete education programme, has launched a competition to find six Samsung Paralympic Bloggers for the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.

Athletes can enter the competition by submitting a 60-second film by 10 December 2017, 11:59pm (CET). The video entries should highlight how athletes make a difference, changing perceptions and redefining the limits of what is possible.

“This is a great opportunity for athletes to show the world what it means to be a Proud Paralympian, and help to raise the profile of Paralympic sport,” said Katja Saarinen, member of the IPC Athletes’ Council.

“This is a great opportunity for athletes to show the world what it means to be a Proud Paralympian, and help to raise the profile of Paralympic sport.”

“We believe that athletes can make a difference by changing perceptions, contributing towards a more inclusive society by redefining the limits of what is possible.”

Once selected, athletes will be given a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, along with other Samsung products to record behind-the-scenes videos, offering a unique insight into the life of a Paralympian.

Successful video entrees will provide a visually compelling story and may have one of the following focus areas: how the athlete exceeds expectations on the field of play, how they break down barriers in daily life or in their community.

After submitting their videos, a panel of judges (including a representative from Samsung and Katja Saarinen from the IPC Athletes’ Council) will draw up a shortlist. Fans from around the world will then vote on which athletes they want to see blogging behind the scenes at PyeongChang 2018.

The six athletes whose videos receive the most votes will join the team of Samsung Paralympic Bloggers for PyeongChang 2018.

The competition is open to any current or aspiring Paralympian for the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games. All entrants must be aged over 18.

Full details on how to enter can be found on ProudParalympian.org.
