Women's Sledge Hockey of Canada have announced their national team for the 2018-2019 season. The team hopes to build off a promising performance from May’s Women’s Para Ice Hockey World Cup in Ostrava, Czech Republic, where Canada fell to the USA in the final.

Head coach Tara Chisholm and assistant coach Derek Whitson selected the line-up with a group of independent evaluators after a three-day selection camp which 24 players attended.

The team includes four defense players and nine forwards. Three goaltenders are currently on the roster and will fight for their spot on the final squad at the first training camp of the season, which will be held 5-8 October in Leduc, Alberta.

Eleven players from the 2017-2018 team are back on the roster this year. Several players who have played for the team in the past are also returning in the line-up, which also includes a promising rookie, Camille Lalonde.

Chisholm said: “We are looking forward to this upcoming season with a large number of veteran players returning. The level of skill at selection camp was noticeably higher from past years. We are also encouraged to see the potential of the younger players who did not make the squad this year as it will only add to the depth of our organisation.”
