In 2016 the Brazilian National Paralympic Committee (CPB) will host four days of para-athletics competition in the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Yes! The same venue of athletics in the Rio2016 Paralympic Games! It will take place from 18-21 May with athletes across all impairment groups.

In 2015 more than 500 of athletes from 16 countries took part in the Caixa Loterias Athletics Open Championships in Sao Paulo.

In preparation to the Paralympic Games the competition will move to Rio de Janeiro, one of Brazil’s most popular tourist destinations. Its vibrant city center is bursting with culture and pulsating with a deep sense of history and heritage. The city is the second largest city in Brazil and the third largest metropolis in the whole of South America. The average annual temperature is between 21 and 27 degrees Celsius.
